By Kyle Louvar, CFP®, AIF®
The 2008 financial crisis marked us all in different ways. Some people lost jobs or homes, while others saw their retirement savings dwindle or struggled with the loss of financial security. Plenty of us had to rebuild what we’d worked so hard for. The more I talked to people, the more I saw that while, yes, the economy had been hard on us, much of the loss may have been minimized with proactive, relationship-based financial planning. I heard story after story about people who lost their savings and regretted not having a plan for their finances. Even worse were stories about people who worked with a financial advisor who wasn’t responsive and didn’t put them first.
The thought that kept running through my head was: “There’s got to be a better way.” So, instead of looking back, I decided to do things differently—to approach financial planning in a way that may help people minimize the scale of loss, be confident in their evolving plans, and remain focused on their long-term goals and dreams.
Paving a New Path
After this realization, I started working for one of the largest brokerage firms on Wall Street, spending almost a decade helping clients clarify their goals and design financial plans to make those goals a reality. Along the way, I became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional and Accredited Investment Fiduciary™ (AIF®) so that I could provide unparalleled service and education to my clients.
As I grew in my role, my passion for working in my clients’ best interests and customizing advice and solutions to my clients’ goals grew. I felt limited in how much I could do for my clients in that role and decided to branch out. That’s how Guided Capital Wealth Management was born.
Fast-Forward to Today
As Chief Executive Officer and Wealth Management Advisor, I hold fast to the belief that goals-based financial planning combined with disciplined investment management and an ongoing relationship through life’s many changes is how we help secure our clients’ financial futures and get them where they want to go. We call this The Paradigm FORMula, our proprietary process that takes what matters to you and the things we can control and creates a fluid and dynamic road map for your money and your life.
I founded Guided Capital Wealth Management as an independent, fiduciary registered investment advisory firm so that we could have the freedom to do what’s best for our clients and provide objective advice while minimizing conflicts of interest.
Our team works tirelessly to continuously exceed expectations, build long-term relationships, and help carry the financial burden for our clients, many of whom are executives and families.
The Best Part
We strive to offer our clients confidence in their financial plans and investments. Our clients become family to us, and their success is our success. Our goal is to continue to provide personalized, educated advice so that their futures are not destroyed by another market downturn. We strive to keep growing and learning so our work can elevate our clients’ lives.
